ApexAnalytica

See how your buildings are controlled and what they cost to run, in one place.

ApexAnalytica connects to your building management system, reads the control strategy and sets it beside the energy data, so faults are found at their cause, not only in the bill. Each finding is checked against the live BMS before it reaches you.

Apex Performance Lab

Five steps from how the plant runs today to how it should.

Performance Lab runs the same five steps on each item of plant, so every site is assessed the same way and every recommendation comes with its reason.

What is inside

The tools to run your buildings, on one set of data.

Control logic and fault detection come first. Around them sit energy, savings, reporting and the record of every building, for estate owners, FM and energy teams, energy services firms and the engineers who act on the findings.

Scroll through to see each module work. Visuals are illustrative examples.

Operations

06

Command Centre

Findings and alerts from every building in one place, each with the readings and trend behind it, worded in standard controls terms, so the team works from one list.

Fault detection

Faults identified from how the plant is operating, described in building-services terms such as "Control loop hunting".

Control logic

Reads the control strategy from Tridium Niagara N4 stations and Trend IQ controllers: the logic, the links between it and the schedules that drive it.

Ask Apex

Ask about a site in plain English. Answers are drawn from the building's own data and documents, and show what was checked.

Performance Lab rating

Each item of plant rated from 0 to 5: where it is today, what software alone would reach, and what new I/O would add.

Description of Operation

A written description of how the plant is controlled, produced from the station's own logic, with the evidence behind each statement.

Energy

03

Energy analytics

Half-hourly electricity, gas and water, from months down to half hours, with carbon from stored grid intensity, so unusual use stands out.

Performance tracking

Cumulative deviation from expected use, so drift shows early.

Reports

Built to order, on demand or on a schedule, so the right people see the figures without asking.

Savings and revenue

04

Measurement and verification

Savings against a weather-normalised baseline, following IPMVP.

Energy generation

On-site generation read from the building's own meters, shown separately.

Demand flexibility

Demand Flexibility Service events and their history. Automatic plant response is coming soon.

Invoice validation

Supplier electricity invoices re-checked line by line against metered data.

Differs from the station: raised as a finding

Building IQ

The record of each building: its plant, its points and its documents. Site documents are kept as a dated baseline, so differences from the live BMS show up as findings.

Portfolio view

Every building in one estate, with access controlled by organisation, client and building.

Evidence

Every finding comes with its evidence.

  • Checked against the live BMS

Findings are verified against the live BMS, not only against stored data, before they reach you.

  • Evidence on every finding

The readings, links and logic behind a finding are shown alongside it, so anyone can see why it was raised.

  • Gaps named, with the fix

When a sensor has failed or data is missing, it says so, and lists the hardware that would lift the rating.

Example

Frost protection cannot trip

DEAD_LINK

The frost thermostat is linked to a slot that does not exist, so on a frost condition the fans would keep running and the dampers would not close.

Checked against the live BMS

The evidence

  • LinkDI04_FrostStat to Safety_Interlocks: target slot not found
  • LogicFrost override links to Heat_Sequence and Damper_Control present
  • ReadingDI04_FrostStat: false, read from the station

Gap named

No duct static pressure sensor on this unit. Fitting one would allow a static pressure reset and lift the rating.

Connectivity and standards

Native to Tridium Niagara N4 and Trend.

ApexAnalytica reads Niagara stations and Trend controllers directly, and rates what it reads against published standards. More controls platforms are to follow.

ApexAnalytica

Connects to

  • Tridium Niagara N4Point values, alarms and history, and the control logic itself over the Fox protocol: blocks, links and schedules.
  • Trend IQThe control strategy, read live from the controllers or from the strategy file, alongside point values.
  • BACnetThe open protocol for building automation and control.
  • ModbusThe protocol widely used by meters and plant controllers.

Measured against

  • ASHRAE Guideline 36High-performance sequences of operation for HVAC systems, used in the rating.
  • CIBSEUK guidance, including CIBSE Guide H on building control systems.
  • IPMVPThe international protocol for measuring and verifying savings.
