Our Story
Apex Innovation Labs is launching in September 2025 at the perfect inflection point in building technology evolution. After spending 25 years in the Building Automation sector, our founder Andrew McKenna recognised that the maturity of AI technology combined with the urgent need for sustainable building operations creates an unprecedented opportunity.
We're not starting from scratch. The ApexAnalytica platform is already built and tested, featuring IPMVP-compliant measurement & verification, 113 fault detection rules across 12 equipment types, real-time anomaly detection, and seamless weather integration from multiple providers. This extensive development work positions us to launch with a production-ready solution.
Our platform has been rigorously tested with complex real-world scenarios - handling 2000+ data points and implementing Haystack semantic tagging for true interoperability. We've built automated reporting, multi-building portfolio management, and enterprise-grade security features that will enable rapid deployment and scaling from day one.
As we prepare for our September 2025 launch, we're finalizing strategic partnerships and engaging with early adopters. Apex Innovation Labs will enter the market with a proven, sophisticated platform ready to deliver immediate value to buildings seeking genuine energy intelligence and operational excellence.

Why I Founded Apex Innovation Labs
After 25 years in the Building Automation sector, I witnessed a transformative moment - the convergence of artificial intelligence with building management systems. This wasn't just another technological advancement; it was a paradigm shift that could revolutionise how we interact with and optimise our built environment.
Throughout my career, from achieving Trend Expert Status to managing multi-million pound operations, I've seen the industry evolve. But nothing compared to the potential I saw when AI capabilities reached a point where they could truly understand and predict building behaviour. That's when I knew it was time to create Apex Innovation Labs.
Apex Innovation Labs was born from this unique convergence - my decades of hands-on experience in smart buildings meeting the transformative power of modern AI and machine learning.
